From wooden to plastic pallets: a smart solution for modern logistics

The pallet can be used in both directions on high-bay racking, is accessible from all four sides by a forklift, and impresses with its high load-bearing capacity. It has a static load capacity of up to 7.5 tonnes and reliably withstands dynamic loads and high-bay racking loads of up to 1.27 tonnes. Added to this is a clear advantage in terms of safety and hygiene: the pallet is flame-retardant, easy to clean and food-safe.

The added value is evident where it counts: in everyday use. Thanks to their nestable design, the pallets can be stacked inside one another to save space. This saves up to 50 per cent of storage and transport space, reduces costs and makes logistics processes significantly more efficient. At the same time, the plastic pallet scores highly for its resistance to moisture, mould and wear and tear. The smooth surface is easy to clean and ensures improved hygiene.

The plastic pallet also impresses from an environmental perspective. It is made from post-consumer recycled material and contains no metal inserts. This facilitates recycling and supports closed-loop material cycles. The innovative manufacturing technology lays the foundation for plastic components that are both exceptionally lightweight and robust, whilst enabling cost-effective production to a high standard of quality.

We unveiled our nestable plastic pallets for the first time at the Reuse & Logistics Leadership Days (RLLD) on 11 and 12 June in Berlin. The event is regarded as one of the most important industry gatherings focusing on reusable packaging and the circular economy, and took place to mark the 30th anniversary of the Stiftung Initiative Mehrweg (SIM). Under our trade fair motto “Develop. Produce. Recycle. Shaping reusable solutions together.”, we demonstrated the potential of intelligent load carriers.

Sometimes the greatest innovation lies in the things we take for granted every day. Thus, a seemingly simple pallet becomes a building block for modern and sustainable logistics.
