Proving effective in times of crisis

It often takes a crisis to show ­whether a concept has substance – or not. Over the last few years we had ample opportunity to put our transformation towards ONE POLYTEC and our new market approach with the POLYTEC SOLUTION FORCE to the test on multiple occasions. And our concept passed these tests in many different ways. We succeeded in aligning our business to the multiple challenges associated with the corona crisis and the geopolitical and economic upheavals in the wake of the war in Ukraine at an impressive pace. From cost increases to labour shortages and volatile call-offs – we overcame all of these challenges.

Even though our results have suffered from these influences – our ­revenue and also our new business show: ­POLYTEC is well anchored in the market and valued as a partner of many big players in the automotive industry. New projects, also outside our core business, are leading the way into a successful future. We will continue to encounter significant challenges in our daily work, including inflation and high personnel, energy and material costs, to name but a few. But we are confident: with our realignment we created the basis for exploiting the high potential for plastic applications on a broad basis at an early stage – in mobility as well as in new application areas such as energy storage and logistics.

In addition to the multifaceted advantages of plastic – virtually unlimited mouldability, low weight, functional integration and recyclability – it is above all our broad technology portfolio and our innovative strength that give us a considerable head start in the market. They provide the basis enabling us to offer perfect and cost-effective solutions even for the most complex customer requirements. 

In the past we repeatedly demonstrated that we are versatile and have the ability to respond quickly to changes in the market and even to crises. The profound structural transformation of the past years has, more than ever, put us in a position to lead our business into a successful future together with our current and new customers.
